schubert sad
Kenny was in charge of the music. A good call, as I have ABSOLUTELY no talent in that area…and he does.
He heard a lady sing at a funeral, (of all places!), and she had an absolutely beautiful voice. Her signature song was "Ave Maria."
Now…to be honest, I thought it was too melancholy. But Maggie said, "There are two versions, Mom. The one you heard before was for more somber occasions, and was the "Schubert" version. We want the "Bach" version."
And you know what…there really is a difference. It was just beautiful without being sad. So the ladies walked down the isle to "Ave Maria" by Bach. The organist was St. Paul's organist and also the head of the music department at University of Hartford - truly a gifted man. The vocalist and the organist had never meet prior to their practice two weeks before the wedding, but Maggie said it was inspirational to listen to them communicate about their craft.
Tomorrow, Maggie's walk down the isle. Thanks photo creds - AGAIN!! - to Patty Cloherty! Picture 3 - the lovely Olivia, #2 - Rob and his groomsmen, #3 - Rob and his best man and brother, Matt.
